David Moore was born in Dallas, Texas in 1951. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Architecture degree in 1974. Though he dreamed of being a painter from an early age, he also excelled at commercial design and business management. His field of expertise focused on shopping center planning and design. For eight years before his retirement in 2013, he was Executive Vice President of Westfield Corporation in Los Angeles, directing as many as 100 architects and managing a national design pipeline of $5 billion dollars.

These days retirement in San Diego suits him and he's been able to return to his original passion, painting. His work is primarily acrylic on canvas, exploring form, color and space....in many ways similar to his career in architecture. The paintings evolve organically as if they've been waiting there
to appear....maybe for many decades.
